Bike Tube & birch Earring Workshop

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to turn an old inner tube from a bicycle into beautiful, lightweight earrings, as well as how to take birch bark and create unique, one-of-a-kind earrings.
We will discuss how to source bike tubes and the best way to harvest Birch bark without harming the trees by sourcing it from either wind fallen trees or from trees that have naturally shed some bark. We will also show you all of the supplies that you would need to make your own earrings and walk you through the basics of making earrings. You will then get to pick from a few different templates for both styles of earrings, or get creative and make your own designs!
We will provide all of the supplies needed to create these stunning earrings that are sure to wow your friends, or give them as gifts and be proud of the fact that you made them yourself. You will leave the workshop with the earrings that you created; one set of bike tube earrings and one set of Birch bark earrings.

There will also be hot apple cider, tea (herbal & black), coffee, mineral water, and a charcuterie board of tasty appetizers available during the workshop.

About Your Facilitator
Terry is co-owner and operator here at Twisted Roots Farm and she has a deep passion for making handcrafted creations using materials and ingredients sourced from our farm and forest or from other local farms. She loves rekindling old traditions, utilizing simple and raw ingredients to create special, one-of-a-kind offerings that have a story and connection to place. Terry also finds great joy in sharing these skills with others, knowing that as we gather together to engage in creativity and make offerings with our hands, we are also building resilient communities and reconnecting with what it truly means to be human. Her spare time (what is that when you farm?!?) is spent writing, crafting, and creating, as well as cuddling our adorable goats, dogs, and cat.
