Whipped Tallow Body butter
& Lotion Bar Workshop
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to make your own luxurious Whipped Tallow Body Butter as well as Tallow & Lard Lotion Bars. You will also learn how to source high quality ingredients, easy methods for dry rendering suet and leaf fat, and the techniques and equipment needed for using animal fats to make your own skincare creations.

These items make wonderful gifts and knowing how to render and use animal fat is a great skill to learn for your own use in creating a variety of personal care products as well as cooking and baking. Tallow and lard are incredible moisturizers as they are similar to the make-up of human skin, therefore, they absorb easily into the skin without feeling greasy. They are also loaded with fat-soluble vitamins, trace minerals, and beneficial fatty acids, and contain both anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.

By the end of this workshop, you will feel confident enough to make your own whipped tallow and lotion bars at home, but in the meantime, you will leave with two jars of Whipped Tallow Body Butter and two tins of Tallow & Lard Lotion Bars.
There will also be coffee and tea (herbal and black), mineral water, and a charcuterie board of appetizers served during the workshop.
About Your Facilitator
Terry is co-owner and operator here at Twisted Roots Farm and she has a deep passion for making handcrafted creations using materials and ingredients sourced from our farm and forest or from other local farms. She loves rekindling old traditions, utilizing simple and raw ingredients to create special, one-of-a-kind offerings that have a story and connection to place. Terry also finds great joy in sharing these skills with others, knowing that as we gather together to engage in creativity and make offerings with our hands, we are also building resilient communities and reconnecting with what it truly means to be human. Her spare time (what is that when you farm?!?) is spent writing, crafting, and creating, as well as cuddling our adorable goats, dogs, and cat.

Includes 2 jars of whipped tallow (60g each), 2 tallow lotion bars, coffee/tea/mineral water and appetizers.
Registration
To register for this workshop, please send an email to: info@twistedrootsfarm.ca. We will confirm your seat and send an invoice for the cost of the hike payable by credit card or e-transfer. Please note that space is limited and payment is required to hold your seat.

For cancellations, we must receive a cancellation request 7 days prior to the workshop date. We will refund the cost of the workshop, minus a 10% administrative fee. You may also transfer your seat to someone else, just inform us of the change.

If we have to cancel the workshop, participants will receive a full refund.
