Holiday planter workshop

Join us for some tea or coffee and delicious baked goods as we create our own unique holiday planters! The base for your planter is made by us using our own milled lumber. These wooden planter boxes can easily be repurposed and make a lovely addition to the entrance of your home. And as they are untreated, you can either keep them as is, allowing them to naturally silver over time. Or you can paint them a festive colour of your choice.
Holiday planters create a welcoming feel and a festive tone to any home. We will provide a variety of materials to choose from, such as Fir and Pine branches, along with Red Osier Dogwood branches, Rose Hips and leaves, Canadian Holly Berries, a variety of cones, Birch branches and poles, and lovely ribbon to create that final touch. (Please note the materials available are dependant on the season as we wild harvest them.)

Please bring with you some gardening gloves and perhaps an apron or jacket that you don’t mind getting sap on from the evergreen branches. You may also want to bring a pair of garden shears in case you want to trim some of the materials to a different size as we will have limited pairs. And if you have any of your own materials that you want to add to your planter, please feel free to bring those along too!
There will be tea (herbal & black), coffee, and mineral water available, as well as delicious baked goods.

About Your Facilitator
Terry is co-owner and operator here at Twisted Roots Farm and she has a deep passion for making handcrafted creations using materials and ingredients sourced from our farm and forest or from other local farms. She loves rekindling old traditions, utilizing simple and raw ingredients to create special, one-of-a-kind offerings that have a story and connection to place. Terry also finds great joy in sharing these skills with others, knowing that as we gather together to engage in creativity and make offerings with our hands, we are also building resilient communities and reconnecting with what it truly means to be human. Her spare time (what is that when you farm?!?) is spent writing, crafting, and creating, as well as cuddling our adorable goats, dogs, and cats.
